Safety measures for travel during the COVID-19 season

Follow safety protocols and travel with peace of mind

If you are thinking of going on a trip, leaving work stress behind for a moment and taking a vacation in some corner of the world, here are some basic safety measures to follow if you are going to a hotel or if you want to do an adventure activity.

It is very important that you inform yourself through the right means and get real and truthful information.

Pay close attention to the measures you should take:

- If you are sick, have a fever, cough, or other symptoms related to COVID-19, it is best to stay home and travel when you no longer have any of these symptoms.

- If you are a person with risk factors or live with a person who has them, such as: diabetic, heart disease, hypertension, elderly, lung disease, among others, it is better to stay at home or consult with a specialist for medical clearance and be able to travel with peace of mind.

- The use of face masks is mandatory in some establishments and should cover both nose and mouth. Health authorities recommend not to use masks with valves and the use of masks should be complementary to other sanitary measures and not as the only option.

The places you visit must comply with the following guidelines:

  • Soap guarantee
  • Water
  • Towels
  • Alcohol not less than 70%.
  • Use of authorized cleaning products
  • Sneezing, coughing and greeting protocols labeling
  • Cleanliness in areas where people live
  • Periodicity of cleaning and check-ups

Some of our recommendations if you are going to travel are:

  • Frequent hand washing, mainly after using the toilet, after coughing or sneezing, after blowing your nose and before eating.
  • Always keep a physical distance of 1.8 meters (6 feet) with people who do not belong to your social bubble.
  • If you are going on a boat or catamaran tour, the person in charge of the tour must assign seats, maintaining a physical distance of 1.8 meters between other social bubbles.
  • In the case of small boats, it is best to travel only with your social bubble.
  • Remember to inquire about COVID-19 with the authorities designated for this purpose.
